Established in 1993, JURTRANSA LTD is a niche transportation company delivering port agency and freight forwarding services.

With the development of privatisation following Lithuania’s declaration of independence in 1990, JURTRANSA recruited staff who had enjoyed senior management roles in such organisations as the Klaipeda port administration, Lithuanian Shipping Company; Inflot and SVT.

Today, the company’s workforce is a professional mix of transport industry veterans and highly educated recent entrants to the industry.

Since 1993, we have handled all types of cargo including hazardous chemicals, foodstuffs, delicate glass, as well as over-sized and heavy machinery.

We have experience in handling cargoes in loose bags, as well as on pallets; in cases and unpacked, both conventional and containerized. We have handled cargoes across all modes including ocean, rail, road, inland waterway and air.

Whilst we have seen reduced volumes of some cargoes, year-on-year, we have experienced ever increasing volumes of oversized and heavy project cargoes and have handled both the transport and installation on-site of these items.

We have gained significant experience in the transport and installation of cylinder-conical tanks (CCT) for breweries in Lithuania, Russia, Belarus and the Ukraine and have successfully managed the delivery of such equipment to breweries including: ŠVYTURYS (Klaipėda), UTENOS ALUS (Utena), KALNAPILIS (Panevėžys), GUBERNIJA (Šiauliai), RINKUŠKIAI (Biržai), ALDARIS (Riga), FAT (Vladikavkaz), OSTMARK-PIT (Kaliningrad), PIT (Novotroitsk), KPK (Kaluga), BALTIKA-DON (Rostov-Don), VORONEZH-PIVO (Voronezh), KOLOS (Lvov), YANTAR (Nikolayev), POLTAVPIVO(Poltava), SLAVUTYCH (Kiev), BRESTSKOYE PIVO (Brest, BY), BROVAR (Mikulintsy).

In total we have transported more than 250 CCTs. We have also enjoyed repeat business from many of these customers. For example, three times within six years, the customer has entrusted us with the transportation of their valuable cargoes with consignments of between 20-40 tanks for KPK (Kaluga).

There is no better testament to good service than repeat business.

We have also transported oversized and heavy machinery for the winery ALITA (Alytus), sugar factories in Marijampole and Panevėžys, the oil refinery MAŽEIKIŲ NAFTA (Mažeikiai), the IGNALINA nuclear power station (Visaginas), KLAI-PETpolyethylene factory in Klaipėda, a garment factory in Kayserslautern (Germany), a cement factory in Chelyabinsk, power stations in Minsk (TEC-2, TEC-3 and TEC-5 ) and many other locations.

Over the last three years we have also transported several heavy transformers and many items of equipment involved in the development of wind power facilities to various construction sites across Lithuania.

Since December 2006, we have also handled regular transport of coal tar in electrically-heated and thermo-insulated railcars; using approximately 100 railcars.

Although oversized and heavy cargoes have an important place in our overall activities, we continue to handle conventional commodities and are developing services for container traffic.

For clients,we can offer customs‘ brokerage, vessel chartering and ship-booking services.

With a network of overseas partners and extensive knowledge of Russia, Belarus and the Ukraine, we can arrange for a multi-modal transportation over long distances, delivering cargo by water (inland waterway and ocean transport), land (rail or road transport) or air.
